Michel is completely self taught in pottery, sculpture, mould/caste making and drawing and apart from attending The Colvestone Open Studio in Dalston, London in his late teens/early twenties has had no formal training. The workshop was run by the late artist/sculptor Alan Clayden.

He moved to Essex from London with his wife and 3 children 30 years ago and works from his studio in converted farm buildings.

Due to the pressure of work and bringing up a family his creative pursuits came to a standstill for 35 years. In life we are always too late in doings the things we want to do, but if you have the energy and willpower you are never too old.

The inspiration for his sculpture is drawn from the survival of the human/animal race and he has produced several semi-abstract studies of the female and horse form including life size bronze pieces.

He holds a regular life drawing drop in at his home studio and also attends weekly sessions in Sawbridgeworth and Writtle.
